bigd1985 Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Ho long does a banshee motor last? How do you know its time for a rebuild? Quote
RabidPitWeasle Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 You need a rebuild as soon as your buddies start beating you on their hondas, J/K. Depends how much you ride, how well you maintain your quad. If you got sooty tailpipes you may need to rering or stick in a new top end. In my case I stuck in a new crank w/pistons, should be good for another 5years Quote
sheefreak Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Get a compression tester and that will give you a good idea. If your readings get down to the 100-110psi mark, then you know it is time. Also if the two cylinders vary greatly. Quote
Banshee~ Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Try the search feature at the top right side of the page. I ride probley 7 hours a month (alot more in the summer) and I will have had the factory pistons and rings in for 2 years on the 27th of December. Tips for long engine life: change tranny fluid alot, clean air filter after every ride, use good mixing oil, use correct octane, and have the correct jetting. Quote
