KJO89 Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 I wanted to know what is the best pipe for my type of riding. I do mostly hills, wide open riding and sometimes trails. I was lookin at shearer in fram pipes and dmc alien pipes. What do you think will be better thanks. Quote
KJO89 Posted November 20, 2005 Author Report Posted November 20, 2005 right now stock but this winter i plan on doing vforce reeds, and porting. Maybe more i dont know. Quote
wesw Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 shearers are a mid to top pipe. dmc are more of a low to mid pipe. if your wanting balls out, wot power go with shearers. if your more putting around, trails adn then some racing go with the dmc. the dmc are good pipes. more all around pipe. the shearers are probably the best drag pipe. it really depends on what exactly do riding wise. if you have a clue on who is going to port it, youmight call them and talk porting and pipes so you can get your stuff lined out. best of luck Quote
Hilarious Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 Where did you get your shearers from, wesw? Like your sig. Quote
KJO89 Posted November 20, 2005 Author Report Posted November 20, 2005 ok thanks man! I think im gona order the shearers because i dont do that much trails only sometimes, and i love that top end power Quote
Toomey Banshee Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 If you want top end the list should go something like this: 1. CPI 2. Shearer 3. T-5's From what I have heard CPI has a bit more low end than Shearer. T-5's are a good pipe for stock motors and work well with porting. Shearer has more top end than the other 2. I have T-5's on 1 of my Shees and CPI's on another. I love both pipes, CPI's on a ported motor is the shit though. Quote
wesw Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 passionre sells shearers for like 470 chromed. pretty good deal pm him or call 918 232 3950 you will like them. shearers usually out pull cpi on the top end Quote
KJO89 Posted November 20, 2005 Author Report Posted November 20, 2005 with the shearer pipes will i lose or gain any low end power from stock? or stay about the same? Quote
wesw Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 (edited) you might lose some i dont know never ran them on stock setup. but it will hit hard in the mid and top most drag pipes you might lose some low end. they like porting if you plan to do that in the future. locogato11283 Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 shearers are gonna kill ur bottom end. say bye bye. cpis will have more bottom end than shearer. personally id go with t5's..unless ur dragging all the time and wanna have all power on top end. if u want any bottom end at all stay awayfrom shearers. rocketboy Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 Iknow when i switched from rockets to shearers i gained more bottom end -very top rpm shearers are just plain awesome pipes ,i wouldnt say bye bye to the bottom end... that depends alot on the port job and compression too IMHO Quote
PassionRE Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 On stock porting, the Shearers will hamper bottom end over a CPI and other pipes as well.. But if ported with Shearers in mind, you can have just as much bottom end as CPI's and just kill the CPI's in the high R's and in peak HP numbers...Jim Quote
