THEREALBUDLIGHTBANSHEE Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 getting my frame ready to go get powdercoated, and i was taking,or trying to take out my steering stem bearings and seals.Got everything out except the bearing race and some kind of hexagon looking collar. Is the hexagon collar made onto the frame or does it have to be driven out also. Quote
Ruko Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 That hexagon looking collar is a big nut. It unscrews if you can find something to fit in it. A buddy of mine took a big bolt and ground it down to make it fit then welded a nut on the other end to put a wrench on. Yamaha probably has a special tool to fit it but I would imagine it costs way more than most people would like to pay. Quote
kb7kuh Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 I just did this last Saturday (I'm also doing a Powdercoat job on mine) I used a large flat blade screwdriver and a hammer to tap it loose. It shouldent be to tight. When I did a Warrior, I used my radial arm saw blade wrench, it fit perfect inside the hut. Quote
THEREALBUDLIGHTBANSHEE Posted November 16, 2005 Author Report Posted November 16, 2005 thanks im glad i did not keep beating on it, Quote
