Meat Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Iv been playing Halo on my computer for the past few weeks and Im stuck and need some advice. Here's the deal. I just blew up the reactor in The Autumn spaceship, I have 7 minutes to get the hell out of Dodge before the ship blows up... I got to drive a warthog through all these long corridors with all kinds of obsticals, all the while the clock is ticking down. Ok, im a terrible warthog driver, I just can't seem to get the steering down, its like im driving on ice, im all over the place, I keep flippin and wreckin'. But I can deal with the bad driving. My main problem is... there's a big jump that I have to make, and I can't make it. The computer-bitch keeps telling me I have to get up to top speed to clear the jump and I get all the running room I have available and hit the launch perfectly and I'm still not close to making the jump. Iv been trying to clear this jump for 3 days now and when I die from missing the jump..... I have to start all over again. It seems like I might be missing some of the warthog's controls. I looked in the book for any additional buttons to control the warthog, like a turbo button or a boost or something, but couldnt find anything. Can someone give me some tips on driving the warthog\keeping it under control and how to clear the big jump. This is the first Halo game and im playin on a comuter. help Quote

Banshee~ Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 The only controls on the hog are: gas, steer, and the horn. I found this for you So jump in the overturned warthog and start racing. Don't worry about making all the jumps, half the time it's faster to go the lower route. When she tells you to stop, DO NOT STOP. Just keep driving like a madman. You'll need to do practice runs a few times to figure out the best route. For example, in the first room the best route is over the top - leaping from ledge to ledge right down the middle. In the second room, it's along the left ledge, a straight shot. Then in the narrow tunnel, you take a sharp left partway in for a shortcut to the next room. And so on. The second half is pretty much a straight run. The person that is supposed to pick you up never shows up, so don't even stop when you are told to. Just drive straight and fast. You'll get told that there's a jump coming up, and then you'll launch into a giant room that you start falling in. This is NOT THE JUMP. There is no way to reach the ledge with the barrels on it. This is the momentum building for the jump. You fall down into a tunnel, land, go forward, and THEN you jump. The jump is really easy to make. You have to keep racing forward, and eventually you get near the ship and it's blocked. Jump out of the warthog and run like mad those last few steps to get to the ship. also if this is the level I think it is (been along time) there are short cuts in the tunnels just look on the sides for openings!
