biggun6ss Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 I have a 14 front tooth and I put on a 39 rear tooth. The stock chain doesn't work with this setup, can't get it tight enough. All I have found for smaller chains is 96 links and I think the stock is 104 links. I don't think I need that small of a chain. Is there a place that sells like 1 or two links smaller or do I just need to cut a link out to get it to work? Quote
wesw Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 (edited) cut your chain 1 link smaller or try a 15 tooth front with a 41 rear it might work Edited October 22, 2005 by wesw Quote
biggun6ss Posted October 22, 2005 Author Report Posted October 22, 2005 Tried that setup and didn't like it much. I'll just cut it up Quote
wesw Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 14-39 is one tooth shorter than a 15-41 15-41 = 14-38 whatever works for you. Quote
biggun6ss Posted October 23, 2005 Author Report Posted October 23, 2005 I know it is shorter but the 15-41 combo didn't like to pull my paddles on top. So I went back to a 14 front with a 39 rear. This setup won't give me as much top end as a 15-41, but more top end than stock 14-41. I think Quote
wesw Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 39 will give you more top end than the 14 41. i dont know how you ride but at LS 14 41 was plenty of top end. bu tthere isnt many huge open areas out there to really wind it out. best of luck Quote
