2003LimitedBanshee Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 Did you pull the head to be sure? What is the compression? Try kicking it over with the radiator cap off. If you get a faceful of coolant, you know you slipped an o-ring. You could have sucked a crank seal, but it would be really smoky out of the right pipe, and smell like you were grilling month old gym socks..... 424446[/snapback] Saw this on another post and didn't want to crap on his thread. But got me thinking. When the bike is warming up I typically get more smoke out of the right pipe. First time or two through the gears the right side will smoke. Once it's warmed up no smoke from either side. Hope I don't have a bad crank seal, does anyone?? Quote
fastbanshee4u Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Doubt it ,are you loosing gear oil? Quote
2003LimitedBanshee Posted October 11, 2005 Author Report Posted October 11, 2005 Nope... I figured that would be the other indicator, and I am definitely not. Thanks! Quote
sandman Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 It's been several years ago now but I lost a crank seal & it was very obvious by the large amount of gear oil coming out the crankcase breather hose. Quote
