crbanshee Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 my shee wasnt playing nice and i cant figure it out.. i just re geared it to a 14/39..and its fast as shit..scary fast..but if i let off just a slight bit shee sounds like she is loading up and about to die..?????? my only mods are the fmf pipes jetts reeds suspension and a 5.6 gallon tank..oh and the k&n filter. she never ever ran funny before..the terrain i was running was out at superstition..for those who dont know the area its 100% natural desert terrain..hard fast washes with some sandy washes mixxed in and some rough stuff (bumpy rutty and rocky) but im ok if i stay pinned 6th but the second i back off it just sounds like she wants to load up and die? could it just be that that gering sucks.. i lost 100% of my low end with this gearing so i know that might be the issue but is there anyone else that treyd this gearing??? what results did u get? rebelbanshee2 Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 14/39 gearing isnt that high. What do you have in it for jets? sounds like a rich pilot Quote
crbanshee Posted October 9, 2005 Author Report Posted October 9, 2005 i dont think its jetting...i ran a 13/41 last week at the same spot and not one bit of trouble..thats why i was thinking gearing Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 well with taller gearing there is more strain on the engine and you are going to need more snap to pull the gear well. It will amplify poor jetting Quote
crbanshee Posted October 12, 2005 Author Report Posted October 12, 2005 my jetting is not the issue i will stake my right nut on that..i ride this place every 2 weeks and i never ever had a single issue with the shee running funny.. i also race desert races at this area and the shee is set up for the area and the races out there. the jetting was done for the area the altitude and all factors were taken in when doing jetting..so im 100% sure the jetting is right on.. im starting to think that because i have to wind the shee up so high with this gearing that when i let off the fuel flow just is too much for the carbs to take ???? any ideas?
