Im looking to change the look of the shee. I want to get the frame and some other parts Powder coated. Question is, how are you guys striping the old pc off the frame and a-arms. I dont want to pay to have the parts striped. I can burn the old pc off at work. But was worried that the frame would twist in the heat, and cant send the a-arms though. What have you used?

Usually when I send stuff to my powdercoater, he has everything sand blasted. I dont have to take the old shit off by myself, he takes care of it.

I think ur best bet would be to have it sand blasted. It's rather cheap around here...

My powdercoater insisted on blasting the frame himself since he was going to be the redoing it.

Just take it to ColorVision Powdercoating in Far West/North Ogden.

Its in the Weber Industrial park. Get off the free way, hang a right, then hang another right on the road that takes you to Parker and Chromalux. Its right near JD Machine. The do excellent work and terrific prices. Call them and ask them for a quote. They have prices right there they can tell you. No oven minimums. Most of the stuff I send through gets done in about 3 days.

On the a-arms, do not send them through. They'll explode. Get them chromed. I took mine to Ogden Chrome. Good job, but a bit pricey. Worth it to me though.

Stan, I work with one of the owners of ColorVision, Bruce Hullet, at lifetime. I havent talked to him about doing it yet, but seeing how you just recomended him i will have to check into it. Did he strip the parts for you?

Theres a guy there that told me he works at Lifetime...but I can't remember his name.

The parts I've taken in have been bare to begin with....

If what you have has powder on it, it has to be torched then sand blasted. I don't know if CVPC does that yet. Theres a few sand blasters around ogden/marriot. Best bet is to check the phone book.

I got my site up and running about a year ago, so yeah...I guess you haven't been around here for a while.

I did a swingarm in silvervein a little bit ago, and everyone that came into the shop asked me why I was selling it. The customer told me it was the best PC he'd seen, so I know they did a great job on it. They even cleared it for me. A hell of a lot better than Endless Powdercoating I'll tell you that.

When its time to do my drag frame I'm definitely taking it to CVPC. If I can get into a new home with a decent garage I'm going to strip my orange bike down and have them do it too.
