i saw a picture a while back but cant find it any more. i wanna do mine but don't know how much to take off. info or pics will help.

I don't know of a measurement. I took mine down to an even radius around the pins. So I made the distance from the pin to the top of the lobe the same as from the pin to the sides. Unfortunately you can't see in those pics but it gives you an idea. Those pics are actually for the neutral back cut.

It allows smoother shifting, and removes the "notchy" feeling ofthe gearbox. It also allows you to find neutral easier, if you do the backcut. But the backcut requires a milling machine, and a carbide endmill.
