Cotton eyed Joe Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 make your reservations now, it gets packed on the popular weekends.I like to go the week before memorial so there is less people and you can get a site at eugine(sp?0 lake camp. It's first come first serve but nice and close tothe big stuff and that's Thunder Mt. 423159 Egin Lake? THats the big "lake" you see in the sat photo. But its more like run off from the surrounding farms. I like Egin for its close proximity to everything too. The trails around the lake (if they even let you go there anymore) are fun as shit too. Just look out for on coming bikes. Quote

8buck Posted October 5, 2005 Author Report Posted October 5, 2005 A lot of times the lake will all but dry up which makes for a HUGE area for drag racing, Quote

Fun as hell to cross over the water too 423299 Just don't let the fish cop find you doing that. I guess they banned people from driving in the water, crossing water, and running their snow mobiles in the water. Don't know why. There aren't any fish in it. Hardly any water fowl. There are some rocks at the bottom that have busted up a few bikes before though. Quote
8buck Posted January 29, 2006 Author Report Posted January 29, 2006 Never heard of not being able to cross the water, we see guys do it all day. You might be right though, they're coming up with some strange rules for riding in that county, so it wouldn't suprise me. Quote

They also mention in a round about way about racing snowmobiles across the water too. I think you're not allowed to cross it in any motorized vehicle. I know a guy that crossed it on a YZ250, and hit a rock fuckin square. Sent him and his bike end over end. But I have seen guys hydroplane the front tire of a CR250 before. That was kinda cool. It was a few years ago, back when people were racing snowmobiles across the pond. Quote

bansheeryder_69 Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 come to Idaho and ask any of the local riders and its called crapos, in honor of one of the crapo's that probably own every circle in that picture that jumped down it and broke his neck. Thunder mountain is how you tell locals from out of staters though. 2 years ago a guy took his tractor out there and plowed all the whoops at the bottom flat Quote
