DMAN94 Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 currently i am running just the k&n pods on stock carbs. every so often a pod comes off, due to no lip on the stock carbs. i would like to start running something more reilable, has anyone used the 2 into 1 filter by uni? it runs about $50.00. i am also looking into an aftermarket airbox, can't run stock, cut all brackets off during coating. i am just looking for feedback on the 2 into 1 setup. does it stay on, and will it be more reliable then the pods on the stock carbs only, since that is what i am running. if its not i am going back to an airbox setup. i just need some feedback, new motors add to fast. thanks dennis Quote
sj820 Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 I ran K&N pods on my stock carbs for almost two years with no problems. I am now running pods on 28mm pwk carbs. I have never had a problem with pods falling off. I love the pods, I prefer to run them over any other setup!!! Of course I am very mindfull of where the Banshee goes! When first running pods I gave my Banshee a nice drink a couple of times. Since rebuilding last year I am very careful not to ride in too much H2O. If I was to do a different setup I would go with the Pro Design or equivalent K&N conversion for the stock air box. That way you can ride with the airbix lid on or off. Personally my Banshee does not go in very much mud or water as it is generally used to rip up old railroad beds and fireroads. I have a four stroke for playing in the mud and water! Quote
Ducman Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 You shouldn't be having problems with the pods comming off. You might want to try uni foam pods as a cheap alternative, they seem a little easier to clamp on too. You might like the Toomey 2 into 1 filter, everyone who has it on here has said they liked it. Better for water than pods. Quote
2003LimitedBanshee Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 I haven't had any problems running the Uni (Toomey) 2:1 setup. Riding over rutted up sand or jumping at the dunes, and no problems at all. Plus I don't have that spooky few grains of sand in the intake track like I got when I was running the stock setup. Seems to flow very good too, they claim better than K&N, but I run K&N on all my cars (can't seem to go wrong). Quote
gatesy Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 I use the uni, works great never had a problem Quote
