VicBan Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 I took my clutch case cover to get it chrome and when I put everything back on it seemed OK, but now when I try to turn on my banshee the kick starter wont return and I can move it all the way around... I know it's something inside the case that I put wrong... but can someone help me out with a diagram or some pictures or at least instructions on how to install the kick starter inside the side case?? VicBan Posted September 24, 2005 Author Report Posted September 24, 2005 Ok I already figured out what was happening... but now I have a new problem... the kick starter is returning and everything looks fine... but when I kick..the kick starter goes all the way down and it hits the foot peg... I don't know if it's supposed to hit the foot peg to make it stop... or if my kick starter is going down more than normal... since I haven't been riding for a long time I don't remember how low is it supposed to go... please any opinions or suggestions are welcome... thanks Quote
J-Madd Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 It can always hit the foot peg. You can also look at where the kick starter sits at resting postion. It should be angled just a bit toward the back of the bike. If it is more than about 30 degrees back its probably too far. You can take the kicker off and move it a couple splines on the shaft that goes into the motor until it rests where it should. Either way, its not hurting anything, as long as its got enough movement for you to kick it and it start. If its too far to the front, it will rest on your new chrome case and scar it a little. Quote
2twin350s Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 yes the kicker does hit the foot peg. that is normal. the earlier banshees had no stop on the footpeg and it put extra strain on the case and kicker. so in the later years they updated the foot peg to add a stop. that is normal.
