04ShEeLE Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 That I can put in my trailtech lights and achieve maximum brightness? I'm running a stock stator. Any help would be nice. Quote
04ShEeLE Posted September 23, 2005 Author Report Posted September 23, 2005 are you sure? what would happen if I put two 50 watt bulbs in? would they just be dim? as in the same brightness at the 35 watt bulbs? Quote
Bansh88 Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Stator only puts out like 90 watts. I had the same thinking you did for a while. Just stick with the 35watters. Quote

The stator (stock) puts out 75 watts. If you use a bigger bulb you will get more of a yellow light. The light element won't run efficiently. Don't know if you have ever had a light with a dimmer knob, the output turns yellow at low setting then whitens up with more power. Same thing with the banshee lights. Your better off actually running a light at your rated power output or a little less. You want some light? Get a RS 200 watt stator and slap some 75 or 100 watt bulbs in. Quote

If i unplugged one it hella bright though. Quote
BigRed350x Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 I saw an ad somewhere that someone put a small battery in a backpack and strapped a small light to their helmet hooked to the battery. Looked like a cool idea except the battery on your back. Quote
Bansh88 Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Thety make an HID helmet setup that is bright as HELL! I've ridden behind one. Gotta pay $$$ for it though Quote
Wallrat Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 (edited) I just bought this Trail Tech dual HID helmet light setup at the SSSS: Also got the wiring so that it hooks up to the bike's stator instead of having to run exclusively off a battery pack. Only drawback is that the shee is an AC system so you have to get the reg/rect + battery and convert the shee to DC in order to run HID's. But it was cake on the YFZ...
