kracker2k Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 Hi, I'm taking my banshee back to stock and just put some stock carbs back on it and I'm having some problems, I already got a stock exhaust put back on it. First off, when I put them on and got it started one carb was stuck at full throttle. I realized the person who I bought the carbs off of had one of the floats in backwards. That part is taken care of now. The problem I'm having now is that it runs but there is not much power there and it smokes a lot more than normal. I tried messing with the adjustments on the TORs but can't seem to get it right with them, is there something else I can do to get these carbs adjusted right? I already sold my other pipes so I need to get this running properly now that it is back to stock. What should I start with to get this running properly? Thanks Quote
kracker2k Posted September 22, 2005 Author Report Posted September 22, 2005 Any help on this would be appreciated. Even a how to on adjusting carbs properly would be useful. Thanks Quote
itsaripper Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 First off why do you want to go back to stock? You put the choke on the left side, right? The little black hose is on between the carbs? The slides are in the right sides? That would mean the slanted part is at the back. One of the guys I ride with had a main jet fall out and it had no power and smoked a lot too If you are going back to stock, depending on your elevation, you should be at 220 on your jetting. Also synce the carbs. Take your filter off and watch the slides. Do they both come up at the same time? If not turn both tors ajustment back to the left. Then open them up the same amount till the engine ideals. Again make sure the slides are leaving the bottom at the same time. Everyone is trying to hop up their banshee and you want to go back to stock? Quote
kracker2k Posted September 27, 2005 Author Report Posted September 27, 2005 The guy I bought it from had put 34mm carbs and Toomey T3 pipes with a stock motor. I'm not sure what he did wrong but it was not running right (kept fauling spark plugs). I took that crap off and sold it now I want it back to stock and running properly so I can sell it for the difference here locally and get my money back out of it. only road it twice. That is my reasoning behind it, right or wrong. I'll try those things you said and see if I can get it running when I get some free time. Working working 60hour weeks and then working on the house all weekend doesn't leave much extra time. Thanks Quote
ellison445 Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 Did you sell the T-3s yet? I would leave them on and jet the bike for the t-3s. Start with a 280 main jet and you should be good The guy I bought it from had put 34mm carbs and Toomey T3 pipes with a stock motor. kracker2k Posted September 27, 2005 Author Report Posted September 27, 2005 I already sold the T3's... these carbs were suppose to be off a brand new bike with no changes. They appear to be brand new as well. The exhaust I got also looks brand new.. not even a scratch or rust spot anywhere... I thought they should go right on and be good. It just runs very rough and won't go over about 20mph... I don't want to hurt it running it to much and just want to know what to try to get it running just like stock. Thanks Quote
