sp1tekiller Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 hey. I didnt know you were on here too. Let me know when you find out. Quote
dogboystoy Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 Im sure you would have to pay some sort of tax. I would think they would document the atv whne you cross, so you should have some sort of proof of ownership. Quote
Banshee~ Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 Yea, I think someone said the mexico side border patrol made them pay taxes for bringing spare tires (atv tires) across the border. Which was going streight into there pockets. So I would have the guy meet you on the U.S. side to be safe. Quote

shellbyzfan33 Posted September 15, 2005 Author Report Posted September 15, 2005 well i called the us border side and they told me the big thing is to find the country of origin on both atvs. if they were made in either canada or the us then their duty free and nothing would have to be paid. if they were made in like japan( which they probably were) then i would have to pay 3% for the first $1000 and 2.5% for remaining whatever?? i'm going to head to the dmv today to try and register it and ask them questions alo. they officer at the border told me to find out country of origin before i call the canadian side border.... Ruko Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 I've crossed the border a couple times to come down there and ride the dunes at St Anthony's. They only check our I.D. nothing about the quads. We came down once with an enclosed trailer and they just opened the door, had a look inside then closed it up again. The next time we had an open trailer and we just showed our I.D. and kept going. They never asked for any paper work for any of the machines in either direction. Quote
