JagImaging Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 Hey..I just got my 99 banshee..and it seems to be leaking tranny fluid from where the shifter output goes into the tranny. I did a search and found out that its probably a bad o ring that just needs to be changed..My question is there a spray type stuff that I could spray on the area to slow down the leaking for a little while since I just got my quad and would like to at least ride it a bit before having to take stuff apart on it. Oh and while Im at it..what type of tranny fluid works best? Thanks Jeremy Quote
BdBanshee Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 It's not an o-ring, it's a seal. Very easy to change too. Take a sheet metal screw and thread into the seal, it will push it out and you can slide a new one over the shift shaft and gently tap it in. Quote
JagImaging Posted September 14, 2005 Author Report Posted September 14, 2005 Oh ok..cool..thanks Quote
JagImaging Posted September 15, 2005 Author Report Posted September 15, 2005 Well it seemed to work..Is the seal in two parts? the part around the shaft and then more rubbery type stuff around that.? Thanks Quote

JagImaging Posted September 18, 2005 Author Report Posted September 18, 2005 Thanks yeah mine came apart..so I had a fun time cleaning out all the rest of the old seal that was in there..So I got the new seal and tried to put it in and it does not fit flush with the casing..is it susposed to.? It looks like half the seal is exposed,, but it did stop my leaking problem.. Thanks again Quote
bansheeryder_69 Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 Rub some silicone around it? or better yet......duck tape that bitch Quote
