Polish Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 yeah, me and another hq member bought a 5 gallon triple chrome kit. it actually worked. but it took like 4 hours to do a footpeg.and all the acids misting in my garage made everything steel rust.it was pretty neat. 505333[/snapback] almost like a homemade METH lab Quote
trail rider Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 if your just looking to remove rust and polish up chrome, heers a pretty neat way I saw on mythbusters on the discovery channel. just use some cola or coke or whatever and some aluminum foil. i didnt believe it at first till I tried it on my chrome wheels on my truck. they had a little rust ring around the center hubcap and a few other spots. just poured some coke on the rust, then took some aluminum foil and scrubed it and the rust came right off suprisingly easy, and when I sprayed the wheel of with the water hose, all I can say is I had some pretty nice lookin wheels . If you dont believe me try it yourself. Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Chrome i couldn't afford so i painted them black. It only took $25 and they look good.. See the halfway picture.. How much does ceramic cost from Jet Hot? My Fatties are starting to rust too, hell they started to rust the fist month I owned them and I boguth them nickle plated. Nickle plating is no reason why they canot chrome since it typicaly goes copper then nickle then chrome on top... But the carbon inside the pipes worries shops... I was thinking about re-doing my Fatty's but only if it is not too expensive Hell I could not find a chrome shop that would do my A-arms for under $200. I'm thinking I would be better off just buying chrome CPI's.. Some friends ride huge Chevy 4x Trucks, They get those big shocks chromed for $40 a piece. Can't be more than that for the a-arms. If needed i can get the #, don't know they if ship avail. Quote
