grounded Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 Curious as to what some of you have as a setup, I got done doing the warrior , so when we stop on beer breaks at night we can flip a switch and light the bulb on the whip comes on only. With the banshee I was looking to try something differrent. Quote
taldoc3 Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 how tall do wips have to be I broke mine and redone it its about a foot shorter than it was Quote
Big Blue Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 10 feet from the ground to the top, if you are close it should be ok. I suggest going to jim sand toys and picking up a quality whip they wont break atleast I havent broke one and i think they are still guaranteed incase they do. Quote
bansheeryder21 Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 I just tape on a glow stick! Nice and cheap! :chee Quote
98bonerSTOCKshee Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 I have some LED siliconed inside of clear tubing about 6" long, I run wire down the whip to a 9V RC battery mounted in the tool storage under my seat. The 9V last about 4 days with 6 LEDs on it... Quote
BB3 Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 advanced auto sell's a 5 foot section of glow wire for 19 dollars and it is bright tryed it looked ok Quote
Bansh88 Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 I used to run "Tirw Fly's" on the top of the whip. Kinda cool. Lots of colors, not too bright and flashy. In the ISDRA your whip must be 8 feet from the ground. You can get away with a couple feet less and I have seen WAY under that Quote
grounded Posted September 10, 2005 Author Report Posted September 10, 2005 I did the tire fly idea , looks pretty damn good if I my say so, can't wait to try it on tuesday Quote
Bansh88 Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 did you get the idea from me? When you unscrew the top off, you can squeeze the connectors that touch the lil spring. That will make the light continue to flash regardless of movement. I used to slightly unscrew the bulb when I wasntn riding to turn it off. Like at camp or sleepy time. You will go through a few of the lights a season. Have extra. I used a lil electrical tape at the end of my whip and screwed it on. Then a piece on the outside for good measure. Quote
grounded Posted September 11, 2005 Author Report Posted September 11, 2005 (edited) I used a 2 inch piece of fuel line , clamped it to the top of the pole and clamped the other to the base of the light, I'll try the continous lighting trick that should be about perfect . Justintoxicated Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 I'm wanting to rig a few of those 3 watt LED's to my whip but I have no way to make a bracket. Should light up the whole area around me and can be runn off some rechargable batteries. Quote
