96dragbanshee Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 my 1996 banshee has been nothing but troubles from day 1. I have since rebuilt the top and bottom end. Due to a frozen ball in the crankcase grrr. Now i have a new problem. I had noticed for a long time that it would lose power over jumps. The next thing i know the damn thing wont start. A guy said it may be a pick up coil or stator. Is this right? I have it all off my pick up coil has resistance of 4 ohms. It just wont start. What does it sound like to you guys? Quote
BansheeBoy17 Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 If its a 96 its most likey the stator, they go after a few years. Go get an ohm meter and measure your stator ohms is the first thing i would reccomend. Check out www.rickystator.com. I'd get the stator and the adjustable plate for $125 if I were you. Thats what I have, and rickystator told me they have never had one go bad in the years they have been selling them. Quote

killabanshee Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 I'm with sheefreak on this one!!! 2 strokes are way better than 4 strokes! Quote
compose2 Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 2 strokes are high maintanence bikes. thats been known. 4 strokes are low maintanence but are slower. if you get your shee dialed in right, it'll kill any 4 stroke out there. i just annhiliated a 450 the other week. passed it like he was standing still. stick with 2 strokes just don't been lazy with your maintanence Quote
