BansheeBoy17 Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 (edited) Just wondering if there is anybody that knows how much wood costs. I'm thinking about trying to build a 7 foot tall fmx ramp. Something like http://www.freestylecomps.com/ramps/7ftrampplans.jpg. Edited August 14, 2005 by BansheeBoy17 Quote
wesw Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 ask bansheefreestyler he is the master at building ramps. go to your local hard ware store and do some pricing, i would use dirt its free and if you screw it up you can always redo it again Quote

broke Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Would is getting expensive. I just bought some 3/4" sheets of plywood ate $28 a sheet. Granted, this is much thicker than you would need but it gives you an idea of how much wood has gone up. 2x4x8 studs are still only about $2.50 a piece, but that starts to add up quickly. Quote
BansheeBoy17 Posted August 14, 2005 Author Report Posted August 14, 2005 Proly gonna go wood for the frame, put some metal braces to help it hold, then go sheetmetal for the face... not sure yet though. I'm going to go over to the new construction site soon and see if they will give me the 2x4's that they usually just burn. Quote
dogboystoy Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 man that is easy going to cost you a few hundred. plan on 25-30$ per sheet of ply, 2X4 is around 2.5$. Like it has been said use dirt. for 200$ you can get alot of dirt. Quote
bobbybonilla Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 I just picked up 2 4ft by 8ft sheets of 3/4" mdf, for a speaker box, each sheet was 23 bucks. Wood prices soar after the hurricanes, now the price is starting to fall back down after the hurricanes from floridia Quote
