CKylesworld Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 I have a 02 banshee, fmf fatty pipes and fmf power core II silencers. Stock filter with airbox snorkel removed, reeds (not stock, but not sure what is in it) and reed spacers. This is the way I got it. I had the carb off to fix a gas leak prob (turned out to be the float) and noticed that all it has are 200 main jets. I am at 1040ft above sea level. It seems to run fine, should I mess with it? It has never fouled a plug since I have had it. I mean I really dont want open a box of worms if it isnt necessary, it runs great right now. I just dont want to damage the engine either though. sheefreak Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 I ran 320 mains w/same pipes, reed spacers, k+n w/lid off at sea level. You obviously are not going to be that drastic, but I would definately think you are lean. I would suggest around the 250-260 range. What do your plugs look like? Quote
CKylesworld Posted August 12, 2005 Author Report Posted August 12, 2005 I havent checked them yet. It just came to my mind today to check on here about the main jet size. I will look. isnt if they have white on them it is too lean? Quote
Big Blue Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 200 are stock mains, you should be running closer to 300. Quote
Dunsmoor86 Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 What happend to the jets fmf sends you with there pipes? They are like 260 and thats just for the pipes. Quote
CKylesworld Posted August 12, 2005 Author Report Posted August 12, 2005 I just bought the bike last week, this is the way it came. Quote
sheefreak Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 On fmf's website, they do suggest 260's w/snorkel taken off, stock air filter. And yes, if they are white ashy looking, you are dangerously lean. You would probably be ok staring at 280's and go from there. I think that will put you a hair rich w/your altitude and stock filter. CKylesworld Posted August 12, 2005 Author Report Posted August 12, 2005 So according to fmf I should be at 260 on the main and 30 on the pilot. What is stock for a pilot? Would it probibly run good if I just up the main to 260 and do nothing else?? Quote

I would also get a K&N filter w/ adaptor plate from nossmachine.com. Quote
