matt-tastic Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 alright, i thought i had all my jetting problems cured, however, i don't think i do.... i'm running, i believe a 270, though it may be a 280, pretty sure it's a 270 main and 4th notch down on the needle, stock pilots.... well, went out to ride the other day in the sand and put the outerwear back on the banshee, forgot it was off...runs like hammered shit...mid is good, top and bottom suck....well, i took the outerwear off and it started to run good on top @ almost wot and at wot but suffered everywhere else....well, after about thirty minutes of riding it also started peeing out antifreeze...so...i do believe i'm still rich...however, i think my jetting should be spot on??? i'm going to go get a 30# pilot on tuesday and bump the clip up to the third or second notch from the top...but could this also be caused from a dirty airfilter??? i'm going to wash it wheenver i get back home on monday... btw, i have t5's k&n w/ prodesign airbox adapter, and am not running a lid... batoutofshell Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 your pilot has nothing to do but start it after that its all main if it starts your pilot is fine. with those pipes and mods you should be running at leats a 290 Quote
wesw Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 your most likely lean on top, 300 -320 i would say. Quote
Banshee~ Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 your most likely lean on top, 300 -320 i would say. 401899[/snapback] I would start with the 320 main like he said. What is your elevation and temp? Quote
matt-tastic Posted August 8, 2005 Author Report Posted August 8, 2005 i'm probably 20 miles north of you ....okc....i started with a 310...went down to 280...the plugs are still dark black....maybe try a 270 tomorrow? Quote
Handyman Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 from 0-5000ft above sea level and depending on what your mods are it is said that you runa 290 main with clip in 4th position. If you have a modded motor it is said to run a 340 main. Info came from Dyno jet stage 3 kit I bought. Quote
matt-tastic Posted August 10, 2005 Author Report Posted August 10, 2005 well, ok....here's the update: i cleaned the airfilter and outerwear, both seemed clean, not too much came out of them, but i put the needle on the third clip, two turns out on the airscrews, and it runs well...i'm going riding today...i'll check the plugs afterwards and see if they look good.... All banshee's puke anitfreeze out once in awhile, because your engine is running hot, maybe lean. I have the same setup as you, but with fmf sst pipes/ same elevation and im at a 320main, 30pilot (sst's like big pilots), stock clip. If I was you I would atleast try at 310 main, stock pilot and see if it bogs at WOT. Your to big on the pilot, that is why your bike is doggy at 1/2-3/4 throttle. No, I dont live in norman, but that is where im going to go to college Quote
matt-tastic Posted August 16, 2005 Author Report Posted August 16, 2005 alright..i'm going to check out 310's again..post air filter clean..lol...i was going to try it out tonight, but i imagine the neighbors might have gotten mad, and i didn't want to tear up any paddles... btw, are you going there this fall?? we're thinking about going to little sahara the weekend after the first week of school..i'll actually be at ouhsc this fall, but the club, Motorsport of OU should be having some meetings here pretty quick..i'm going to try to get everyone off of their asses...lol...we've got to elect new officers and the such.... but ya..hit me up if you want to run out there with us...
