suzuki0702 Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 well i took my topend off finally, and found 3 piston rings on the pistons, two were wrapped around the top of the piston. but anyways how can i identify a stock piston? these have an arrow pointing forward i guess and on the inside its marked "1UA00" and ART i believe. thanks for your help.. i am guessing that this is a stock bore.. but its off a 98 ! ever heard of that? lasted pretty long i guess.. also how do i know if my lower end bearings are still good? and how difficult is it to tear that case apart. probably dont want to do it because of my first time...later guys. Handyman Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 can you post a pic?? I just tore my top end down and getting ready to put it back together. It sounds like those are the stock pistons because mine had 3 rings on top and 2 on the lower set. Posting a pic would really help too. Those arrows are there to tell you that that is the foward part of the piston and the arrow should face forward of the bike. Quote
suzuki0702 Posted July 31, 2005 Author Report Posted July 31, 2005 well i was saying that you should have a total of four piston rings on both pistons (two rings on each piston) well one of mine disinigrated or went somewhere i didnt want it to. also i wanted to share with everyone that i just got done looking at my lower end and found that there is milky oil in there? not too much but just enough to see. im assuming that isnt normal so how can i flush it out? little antifreeze in there too, but im sure that splashed in there when i took the jugs off. so any help is appreciated. try and get some pix up asap... later guys Quote
suzuki0702 Posted July 31, 2005 Author Report Posted July 31, 2005 here some pix boys the stuff in my lower end...looks like just antifreeze here but theres oil on the connecting rods.. heres the stamp on the piston Quote
Handyman Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 the pics didn't come up, at least for me. All i see are red x's.....milky looking oil is definatly not good. It can either anit freeze or water. Not too sure what anitfreeze would look like mixed in oil. Quote
