mud91 Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 How much of gap should there be from the slides to the bottom of the carb. Quote
wesw Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 the slides shout sit on the bottom of the carb bore. and the air is drawn in thru the cutout in the slide. then you adjust the idle, if you have a carb sync tool you can get the carbs to be exactly the same reading so it idle perfectly Quote
mud91 Posted July 20, 2005 Author Report Posted July 20, 2005 I don't think mine are all the way down. Do I bottom them out by the nut on top of the carb tops, then adjust idle. Quote
wesw Posted July 21, 2005 Report Posted July 21, 2005 sounds like you need to adjust your cable with the 2 nuts on the end of you tors system. when you get them to sit on teh bottom then you need to sync the carbs up Quote
98bonerSTOCKshee Posted July 21, 2005 Report Posted July 21, 2005 no they dont close all the way. I would say maybe 1/8 inch gap if that... if you got a good ear you can... with the bike not running clamp the gas and let go.. you should hear 1 bang or tapping noise... if you hear 2 there not even close.. once you get it close look inside from the breather box both slides should be visiblly the same gap.. or go by the synch tool if you wish...
