NYUK Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 if someone has taken apart a set of works triple rates, please explain to me how to do it. Quote
Big Blue Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 After looking at mine all you should need is a spring compressor, compress the spring and slide out the top plate holding the spring on. Quote
racer Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 if you dont wannt buy a compressor, you cant use a bunch of hose clamps. wrap for or five through the coils and tightren evenly till you have enough room to remove the coil hat. Quote

racer Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 Cole, How many beers you have so far? 394025[/snapback] that shit works. but in answer to your Q, not enough. Quote
BdBanshee Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 I made a spring compressor after seeing one at a shop. The Works shocks come apart pretty easy, just compress and slide out the plate at the bottom. Quote
sredish Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 Quite often, you can have a buddy compress the spring and then you can slide the plate out really quick. Is that what your asking, or are you wanting to get into the valving? Quote
89Steeda Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 I just clamp the shock in a vice, then run a ratchet style tie down from the top of the spring, down under the shock and back up to the top of the spring( on the other side). Worked great. Quote
NYUK Posted July 19, 2005 Author Report Posted July 19, 2005 no i don t want to get into valving,i just want to remove the springs. Quote
