momo20 Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 well its all the parts are here and i am putting the shee back together...what is the best type of tranny fluid to run...the bike is gonna be a stoker +4mm so i dunno if that matters....i just want some top quality fluid in there Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 Is it a new clutch? ... I remember reading that it's not a good idea to change the fluid if the clutch has been used with a previous fluid. ... Better to wait 'till it's fresh fibres. Bel-Ray gear saver (80w) is a popular one. If they're new fibres, then (also from what I've read) Type 'F' automatic tranny fluid (ATF type 'F') is good, and also cheap which means you can change it more frequently. I use Putoline light gear oil (75w), but that's European so there'll not be many comments about this stuff. ... For me, it's fine. (Damned expensive tho'!) Do a search, there's loads of info. Here's one of many .... "tranny oil" http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...7&hl=tranny+oil Rare. Quote
