racer714 Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Hey everyone, haven't had as much time to dwell on the HQ lately due to a new work shedule, any way I noticed my 2 rear tires are starting to wobble alittle at speed. Could it be worn spindles? whan you lift the rear off teh ground and move the tire/rim on teh axle side to side there is some play, just not a shitload. I also have 2 1/2 spacers on(stud type). Could they being sightly out of whack cause this as well? My axle is stock, spindles are stock plus the spacers. Any ideas?? Quote
Banshee~ Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Take those wheel spacers off, they put alot of stress on the axle. Are the axle nuts tightend up? Quote
racer714 Posted July 14, 2005 Author Report Posted July 14, 2005 yeah everything seems pretty tight, you think the spacers are doing it? Quote
chapmanmd Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 get those f'ing spacers off of there. check your hubs for tightness (axle nuts) Quote
racer714 Posted July 15, 2005 Author Report Posted July 15, 2005 (edited) Duh onmy part, the nuts were alittle loose, i took off teh spacers but now am missing the huge width gain they gave me. Im thinking about a aftermarket +4 axle, How hard realistically is it to install and how long should it take? Edited July 15, 2005 by racer714 Quote
Dunsmoor86 Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 To install an aftermarket axle, easy. Just takes some time taking spindles off and your axle nuts ( thats going to be the hardest part if they haven't been touched for awhile) it shouldn't take you more than an hour. Quote
chapmanmd Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 If you cant replace an axle in an hour or so, you probably should not be working on your shee. Quote
