i was going down the road in 6th gear, about 1/4 throttle, and then the banshee started to buck, and run like crap, like it was on one cylender, so i turned back around and headed for my house, and then it started getting worse, it died, and came to a stop, and i looked underneath, and saw the my left spark plug wire had came up, so i pushed it back down, and kicked it over, about 100 times, and it didnt start, or even come close to starting. So after i got it home, (luckily my neighbor drove by me with his truck and picked me up) i took both plugs out, and tried to see if i got spark from either side.....NOPE....cant think of where the problem would be. so please give me some advice of what is wrong. Do you have lights if you pull or push the bike in gear? Also what year is your banshee? I suspect that your coil is bad on the ignition side. You can test the coil by reading the resistances of the coils. I used to know what wires were for which coils, but refer to your clymer manual for the specific resistances and wire colors to test across. If it is your stator, you will have to have it rewound. I would definitely recomend Ricky Stator as a place to check out. Others may have other suggestions, but I found that Ricky Stator did a good and reasonably priced job. ok, ill test the coil, i have the clymer manual, and i dont even have headlights, the kid that had it before me riped em' off or something. thanks for the advice. also my banshee is a 96'

check your ground wire too, sometimes they'll break right where they bolt to the frame. I ran my own wiring so my ground wire was mounted on a bolt on the rear seat "bracket" piece(right near the CDI), im not sure where the stock ground wire mounts tho :shrugani: .

 

Also, replace both spark plugs with brand news. Your problem could be a simple fouled set of plugs. I dunno where your from, but here in pennsylvania its spark plug fouling weather the past two weeks. 92 degrees and humid as Africa, foul a spark plug on a rich motor faster than you can say Amsoil.
