the banshee i just got... it needs the oil seal behind the sprocket, but i think its also dripping some gear lube from 2 of the bolts that hold the case together under the motor? its hard to tell if thats exactly what some of the drips are coming from but i know its gotta have the seal done for sure..does anyone know if oil can leak out from those bolts?

thanks

It won't leak through the bolts if they're loose. ... They're isolated from the transmission internals. (The holes for the bolts are bored through the cases).

It's most likely just dripping down from the leaking gasket behind the sprocket. Check your gear shift seal and the clutch arm for leaks, as both of these will allow oil to reach the underside of the case. ... If the clutch arm seal leaks, the oil works it's way through the drain hole that goes right down through the cases behind the cylinders.

Rare.

thanks guys, but i think i found out what it is..i think its gas that was coming down from the over flow on the carbs, there's no drain tubes on the bottom of either carb, so it just drips on my motor, and runs down and to the lowest point (the bolts) instead of leakin on the ground. it looked like gear lube because it was mixing up with everything else that was already there...my bad. thanks though i was wondering if those bolts were capable of leaking anyway.

Wishful thinking bfs. ... No, it's right behind the jugs in the centre on top of the case. Still looking for that leak by your sprocket then :D.
