bansheefreestyler Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 well i think i cracked my case. my quad wont shift down gears so i looked at the shifter and there was oil all over where the sprocket is. i couldnt see where iut was coming out from but there was alot coming out. what did i do? what will i need to buy and how much will it cost? thanks later Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Have you lost all the oil in the tranny and seized something? ... Footpeg, gear changer, side cover and front sprocket off. Clean aroud the gear lever seal and the seal behind the sprocket. re-fill with tranny oil and see where the leak is. ... You can use some kind of silicone for a temp. fix. But you'll need to tip the bike up and make sure it's really dry where the leak is. Did you do it while landing a backflip? Rare. Quote
chris642 Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 maybe the seal for your shift shaft is bad, or maybe even the whole shift mechanism is bad, which is why it wont shift. you better hope thats what it is, that would be much cheaper and easier than having to take the whole engine apart and replacing the case. bansheefreestyler Posted June 26, 2005 Author Report Posted June 26, 2005 k well i took the sprocket off and looked and there is a hole there and is super clean. it looks like its where the oil is coming out. you guys tell me what it is? like it is right below the rod where the sprocket hooks on like to the right of it below the rod Quote
