BenBB Posted January 13, 2003 Report Share Posted January 13, 2003 From what I've read (not firsthand so take that into account), flatslides offer better throttle response but roundslides offer better air velocity (so flat is better suited for low-end power delivery, roundslide for top). The D-shaped slides are an attempt to get the best of both worlds, but doesn't perform as well at the extremes as the other two. Also Keihen vs. Mikuni, Keihens tend to have more "overlap" between circuits, so it takes a little more work to dial them in than typical Mikunis...
