BanshAholic Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 Hey guys, my left cylinder started to die on me the other day so i tore into it found a hole in a reed petal, thought that was my problem the cylinder wouldnt fire at all after i put the stock reeds in it.So i switch plug wires and then that cylinder doesnt fire so what do ya think i should replace first cdi stator etc etc. thanks in advance Quote
BanshAholic Posted June 16, 2005 Author Report Posted June 16, 2005 I found some rust on the flywheel were the pickup generates, those little bumps,so i sand it off and it wants to run better so would that narrow it down to the stator for sure?Dont want to spend 200 dollars for no reason. Quote
Shee-Male Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 make sure your wires are in good shape, eceltricity always takes the path of least resistance. Also make sure your carbs are in good working order. Quote
ledofthezep Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 If I'm understanding this...you theres a plug wire that doesn't allow whichever cyl it's on to fire? If that's the case, you may unscrew the cap, clip the wire a snatch hair & rescrew it on to make sure it's got a good connection, asside from that, If you're still having the same issues, I'd say probably coil. If it's the stator it'll most likely be firing, but backfiring, or nothing at all on either cyl...most likely similar symptoms if it's the cdi, probably no spark at all though. Hope that made sense & helped. Quote
