running with silencer off

i was riding today and i guess all the bolts rattled off of my left side pipe and the thing just fell off. i was way back in a trail and it was a good mile to the truck and i couldnt get hold of anyone to tow me out, so i rode out slow with the left silencer in my lap.

 

question:

 

could that have messed anything up? i didnt get on the gas hard, but it was the loudest damn noise ive heard from the shee.

I don't think it would hurt anything. Thats how most drag pipes are ran, without the silencer. As long as the header/expansion chamber thing was on it should be fine. YEA its loud as fuck

I had that happen TWICE last weekend......damn Toomeys. I rode about 4-5 miles back to the cabin both times, everything is still A-OK. I went to the hardware store and bought some loctite and lock-washers, it better never happen again. But ya.......LOUD AS HELL!!!
