'shee Posted June 21, 2005 Author Report Posted June 21, 2005 Before you do anything get a Clymers!!!!!!!!!!! 382861 Ok, I got my clymers.... I was reading it last night and it said it could be something such as having a too viscous oil. I am running 10w-50 yamalube. Could this be my problem? Quote
dajogejr Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 I've always run straight 80W Bel Ray Gear Saver oil in all my two stroke trannies. From CR dirt bikes to banshees. Never had a problem shifting or with the clutch... I'd drain it...and fill it fresh. Be sure not to overfill it. If you buy two quart bottles, you should have roughly an inch or so of fluid left in the second quarts. It takes just a hair under two quarts. Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 bog in upper gears hits to me a gearing or rich jetting situation. Quote
dajogejr Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 Yeah...I didn't read the whole thread again. What is your gearing and tire size? Quote

bigboybanshee Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 a 12 tooth front sprocket, and i believe the stock gearing in the rear... whatever that is And I have the origional tires on it. 384429 That definitely rules out gearing....have you checked your compression? Quote

The only way i can explain my problem is to say that in 5-6 gear, it seems like the clutch is slow to engage fully. but when it engages the bike pulls strong. Quote
dajogejr Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 Hmm...at a 12 front, it should SCREAM....through all gears. If anything, if it were running correct...you'd stop pulling around 1/2 to 3/4 throttle in 6th...because the enging has more RPMs...but the gearing simply can't pull it.... Did you change the oil... Is this possibly a tranny problem? Quote

dajogejr Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 As long as it's recently been changed, and not severly overfilled, no... The motor runs like a top through 4th, and clutch engagement/action is fine too, up until fourth. I would point towards a gearing problem....but, as you said...12 in the front. Hell, a 100% bone stock shee will scream with this gearing, and pull it all the way to the top. Something in the tranny...I think... Quote

bigboybanshee Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 Just for shits and giggles, try shifting without using the clutch in those higher gears and see what it does....I hardly ever use the clutch when I shift, only time I use it is when I take off in first. Quote
'shee Posted June 26, 2005 Author Report Posted June 26, 2005 well i went out and rode it. I found out that if i let it wind out just a little longer it doesnt do that anymore, so im not worried about it anymore. thanks Quote
