Bansh88 Posted June 4, 2005 Report Posted June 4, 2005 Stock stator. Can I run 50w bulbs in my lights? I 86'd the brake light to use more power up front (and it's gay anyhow). At the moment I have one 35w and one 50w.l What problems, if any, does this make? Or can I run 2 50w? Quote

ssanddemon Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 Seems to me that factory (max) output is in the 75 watt range. You are probably pushing the limits with the 85W you are pulling now and will only succeed in frying the lighting coil if you step it up even more. Give it a try I guess, but it would be a better idea to step up to a 200W coil, then run your two 50s (and more) with no problems. I used to run without the taillight until I got busted at night one time. Lucky I had the taillight in the box-o-parts or I would have been done night riding on that trip. Quote
