CombatTalon2 Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 I have an 05 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab, I adjusted my torsion bars today and found something i consider to be odd. The adjustment bolt on the left had about 6 threads to fully tight. The right side had about 11 threads? Is it normal for them to be uneven, the truck sits level, and it rides fine. Im just wondering if i need to have it looked at by the Dealership? Thanks Dustin Quote
KoooPSD Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 I dont think its unusual to be uneven, i read somewhere to not go by that to just measure each side and make sure each side is level in height, but i could be wrong. Quote

CombatTalon2 Posted May 21, 2005 Author Report Posted May 21, 2005 lots of variences there chief. is the angle of the torsion nut the same as the other, perpendicular to the hole it sits in, is one torsion going weak, when it came from the dealer did they put the key in right. mine sit even when i put em back on 371929[/snapback] Well its got 2500 miles on it so i hope its not installed wrong, or going weak. guess i will call the dealership tomorrow and see what they have to say. NEVER SATISFIED Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 just 2500.... hrmmm. ... ya sure it was leveled when you messed with them. or were they like this before. did you crank one all the way? thats a no no Quote
zilladude Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 I do alignments on those trucks all the time. the drivers bolt is always turned in more than the passengers side. It is from the way the keys are cut from the factory(same key fits both sides) Quote
racer Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 did you lift the front of the truck off the ground during your adjustments? i didnt realize it made such a big dif until i saw two trucks side by side. Quote
holeshotkid Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 I figured that the drivers side was turned in more to compensate for the fuel take on the drivers side. Quote

Yes it was level before we adjusted it. It has not been touched since i drove it off the lot. And No the adjuster bolt is not turned all the way in. Quote

Minkia38 Posted May 23, 2005 Report Posted May 23, 2005 hmm... I was considering turning mine in a bit on my 05 silverado too, I just slapped on some bfg muds 285 70 17" on there, and the tires fit fine, but I think a touch of lift would make it look better - id sacrifice for the shittier ride... anyone care to comment on this?
