03LE Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 Just curious if anyone lives in or around Tulsa could tell me if Keystone lake is low enough to ride on Apalacian (sp) bay yet? I'm guessin not, but ya never know how much water they let out. Thanks We went last year and had a blast draggin and ridin along the shore slingin sand and water. Quote
STLBILL Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 One thing I learned after trading my 'Shee for a waverunner is how to check lake and river levels before going anywhere. Use the site below to check the level of Keystone Lake. You'll have to figure out what level exposes the riding area you are talking about. http://www.swt-wc.usace.army.mil/KEYS.lakepage.html The parent page shows you more of your area: http://www.swt-wc.usace.army.mil/ -Bill Quote
Proquad101 Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 I'll find out, I'm sure one of my friends will ride there this weekend. Quote
Banshee~ Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 My friend was going there last weekend, but I dont know if he made it. How is the riding down there? My dad said his friend got hurt because there was a huge hole in the ground or somthing like that Let me know when your down there and I might stop by. Quote
Proquad101 Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 It's a cool place to ride. There is alittle bit of everything there. If the water is down you have alot of sandy beach to ride on, there is always a big drag race set up somewhere on the beach. There is also alot of trails to ride if that is what you like to do. The only bad thing is on holiday weekends the damn boaters try to tie there boats up and camp on the beach. There usally is a pissing contest between a boater and a rider until the park ranger shows up and makes the boater leave because it is ATV island not boaters island. Dont let that keep you from going there to ride, I promise you will have fun. Quote
03LE Posted May 16, 2005 Author Report Posted May 16, 2005 thanks for the links and info and interest. We had a good time the one time we went, but it can be hard on the quad down there, lots of rocks and stuff you gotta go over to get down to the good stuff. But like PQ said the drag racing down there is fun, and when we went someone had made a flat track with some tires and what not to mark the track. We raced around on it for awhile too. But must fun I had was haulin ass around the waters edge and roostin sand and water up. When I know for sure we are going, I'll post it up maybe we can meet some of ya down there. Quote
Big Blue Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 Let me know when you go i may be able to make it there im only a hour east of there. Quote
OKsoccer24 Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 I live in Tulsa and go there a lot. The best time to go is when the lake is down at least 2 feet. If it is above -2, then don't waste your time. There will be no space to drag and ride on the shore. Quote
Banshee~ Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 When I know for sure we are going, I'll post it up maybe we can meet some of ya down there. 370005[/snapback] hell yea, im about 1 hr or so from there. Let us know are group might have a couple banshee's down there Quote
John19 Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 A few years back a boater had set up a fishing line inbetween 2 trees and a buddy of mine caught it at the bottom of his helmet at like 50 mph on the beach. Thank god it wasn't an inch lower or would have got him in the throat. I've rode out there over a hundred times and only sceen that once. Alot of fun exspecially when the lake is down 5 feet. I always judge it by the big cement block when driving up to it how low it is. The boaters do get kinda pissy when your running by their beach at 60 mph but like jack said it's atv land. The last time I went out there the water was high and all the trails were rutted out and I left in 30 min. Quote
