I wouldn't bother with any dunes in Utah or Idaho right now. Its been nothing but rain and snow for 3 weeks. Who the hell knows when its going to stop.

They weather was nice as hell at Sand Mountain (Utah) this last weekend! Then it rained on the way home of coarse :shrugani: Good old Utah weather! But if the weather is going to be decent, you should stop by Utah. Moab is definitely a must for hiking. Sand Mountain is pretty good times too!

Thanks for all the great ideas for places to ride as we drive cross country.  Directions and pictures are so great and much appreciated.  Keep the locations coming.  We are likely to drive I90 or 80.  Any places in South Dakota?  Michigan?  Thanks.

If you want to travel about 3hrs north of 80, silver lake sand dunes are in Michigan right on Lake Michigan. Very beautiful place, but only about 400 acres of ridable dunes. You can ride the place in a day though, and then move on. If you decide to make the trek, pm me and I will give you some directions.
