bradbanshee87 Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 my 87 banshee has been at the shop for a year now, and the dumb ass mechanic cant figure it out why the bikes spark goes away after the bike first initially fires we have changed the stator, fly wheel and voltage regulator, and tested the coils and plug wires to find nothing wrong, the mechanic said i need a cdi and got one from dyna ignition in california and i live in ontario canada it takes 6 days for the cdi to get here and yet we are not convinced that will fix the problem i dont know what is wrong any idea's??? RNBRAD Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Well since everything else has been replaced it looks like it may just be the cdi. You might disconnect your tors and check your key and ignition switch for any problems while awaiting delivery. Quote
bradbanshee87 Posted May 11, 2005 Author Report Posted May 11, 2005 i have already removed tors a long time ago and put in idle screws and the bike ran so well so it has to be the cdi Quote
wayfst Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 check the wiring harness, it's not unusal to have the wires short out inside the harness itself. when tested they test fine, put it back together and it won't work. strip it check each wire visually. good luck Quote
