williamjernigan Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 I think I may have screwed up the stator. I was trying to take off the flywheel nut and I didn't have anything to hold it from spinng so I took my phillips head screwdriver and put it in one of the flywheel holes so that it would go all the way through. I got the nut off after I used some common sence and got a belt to hold the flywheel. Anyways now the stator in one spot has an indention from where the screwdriver was rubbing against one of the things(whatever you call them). It also flaked a little off. The indention is not to big and it is only in one spot but I don't know if it will affect the spark. Am I in trouble. Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Post a pic. The only way to know if you screwed up (without seeing it) is to run it and see if it works. You may have decreased the usable life of it though (if it still works) and it may quit sometime when it Quote
williamjernigan Posted May 10, 2005 Author Report Posted May 10, 2005 Look at 5 oclock and that insulator. You can see where their is a small indention into the insulation. Do you think I will be alright Quote
rzcolobanshee Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 It will probably be fine unless you broke one of the wires that are wound around there, just put some liquid electrical tape on there and put the flywheel back on....see if starts... Quote
