hey guys..

well i dont really understand the jetting part of the bikes..

i have a k&n flitter, fmf fattys, boost bottle, and just did the plugs/wires.

my shee is not jetted but now im thinking if it should??

what would change if i did?? and do you guys think i should..

YES you need to re-jet. If you don't, you're likely to destroy your engine before very long due to a lean mixture createing excessive heat in your chambers. ... More air requires more fuel. Read the topic about jetting that's pinned at the top of this forum page and then come back if you have any other issues that you're not clear about.

ok i read the topic on jetting..

i read over the listing to your motor part. and i know my motor is not running lean.

it starts first kick every time, and idles great. but for running ritch im not sure..

the motor sounds great. the trottle is right there , better then when i had old wires on it. and it works even better when wormed right up.. i dont ever go to far from the ocean considering i live right on it perty much. so should i realy go out and buy a jetting kit..????? i think i should anyways.. but..

It's not the idle circuit or upto 3/4 throttle that you're dealing with, it's at full power (3/4 to WOT). You really need to do a plug chop, which I'm sure is going to show up lean with the mods that you have.

 

Your std. main jets will probably be somewhere between 200 and 220. I imagine you should be somewhere around 260 - 290. You don't need a jet kit, just buy pairs of jets.

 

I'm sure someone with a similar setup to yours will chime in with their settings, as I don't know the 'appetite' of your pipes. ... Some pipes run leaner than others.
