NitroTate Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 My stepson cross-threaded the oil drain plug in his blaster and I just tapped it out to a larger bolt size. The new bolt tightens down nicely but is just a tad loose in the threads as you start screwing it in. Would I be wasting my time to use a little Teflon tape to help the seal or would it just melt and disintegrate? Quote
rzcolobanshee Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Couldn't hurt, maybe a little blue loctite to keep it on.... Quote
locogato11283 Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 you could have a machine shop put a helicoil in there. thats what my bro did. otherwise use some yamabond or something like that. itll seal right up. also is there a copper washer under there? Quote
NitroTate Posted April 20, 2005 Author Report Posted April 20, 2005 I was going to go get either a copper washer or a gasket washer for it. I'll just use some yamabond, i have some so might as well be safe. thanks Quote
racer Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 it should have a copper crush washer from the factory. Quote

Not much too them, guys in our buggy group use them on VW sparkplug holes quite often. Quote
