no spark

lost all spark on my quad is it the cdi box and will all years interchange please help it is a 1996 thanks

I believe 92 and up will interchange...

 

Have U checked ur stator? Make sure the stator is good...I think it will go out b4 the cdi...Just my 2cents

Try a new plug and check your spark plug caps make sure they are getting good contact with the wire. If so check your coil resistance if you have a multi meter. Not sure on the specs but I sure someone with a climer book could help. If your still good check your wiring harness for split wires and conectins. Check flywheel to make sure the raised pick ups are clean of rust. Also check pick up magnito for clearence which is where the flywheel makes close contact with the little black box. Its kinda rare for the cdi box to go bad, thats one of the last steps. Go from here and see how it works out. Any questions just ask I delt with the same problem for a long time.

I too am having no spark problems. I bought this banshee from a friend and he said the stator was bad. I tested it and came up with the following: Ignition coil =good, Pickup Coil=good, Lighting coil = Bad. Would a bad lighting coil = no spark, or is there other problems going on. I do need a plate because one of the Pickup coil moumts is broke and there is more than .020" gap there. I just wanted to hear it run before I bought one. I will test the primary and secondary coil on sunday. Not much time to tinker because of work. Thanks Mike
