The newer one will prolly have one 5-wire plug instead of two 4-wire plugs, but you can just take the pins out and tape off the 5th wire (it's purple if I remember right), and re-use the old 4-wire connector...mine's a '96 and that's what I did on the Dyna CDI I'm running now. Good luck.

Like Ben said, you could do it if you remove the pins and swap one of the connectors. The round connectors are only on the 87-94 models.

The 01 CDI box has an extra wire on it. If its a dyna, it is a purple wire. Or if its the stock CDI, its green/yellow. Leave that one disconnected, and swap the others over, and you are good to go.

Bradrs, just curious, what is the 5th wire for??

They added the 5th wire into the harness for the parking brake switch. It tells the ignition the brake is on, and there is a lower rev limit. The Dyna uses that as the adjustable launch limit input.
