sparkzilla Posted April 12, 2005 Report Posted April 12, 2005 READ THIS IT WILL HELP I am not saying that the HQ has bad sellers. But they are everywhere. It only takes one time for me to learn my lesson. I would like to pass it on to you. When you are buying something off the Message Boards, take some steps to protect yourself. First, get all of the info you can on what you are buying, this includes pictures. You want multiple angles of the item that you are buying. Save this information. If you use AIM, copy your conversations and save it somewhere. Second, get all of the info on the person that you are dealing with. Full Name, Address, Home Phone Number(not Cell), Age, E-mail address, IP number, ect Quote
. Posted April 12, 2005 Report Posted April 12, 2005 I disagree with the paypal thing......use a money order....if they just take your money, you have an address.....and mail fraud is against the law Quote
sparkzilla Posted April 12, 2005 Author Report Posted April 12, 2005 I personally prefer Paypal, but if I can't use it I use Postal money orders or cashiers checks. I just thought I would try to help some other people out. I have got scammed a couple of times. And I am sure some if you have too. Once is enough. But this is just some ideas to help cover your ass. BrockMoto Posted April 12, 2005 Report Posted April 12, 2005 when you get scammed do you get your money back? Quote
owlwheels Posted April 12, 2005 Report Posted April 12, 2005 I have to agree with this post...other than the MO thing....i am trying to resolve a situation right now where a MO was involved. Definately use your fellow forum members for help in getting background info on your seller. With my situation other forum members have given me a lot of help in tracking down the seller. Quote
