IMMASANDSLUT Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 If you tighten down the flywheel properly, you will not have a problem. It won't shear because of the lightened flywheel. 348149[/snapback] What is the proper way to tighten down a flywheel? Quote
fixitrod Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 That tool idea was MAT's. The guy who lives near the badlands in Indiana. He also put some "tabs" a the other end that slide into the groves on the clutch hub. Slick as hell. I haven't needed to do that yet. Quote
boonman Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 You need to hold the flywheel still, and torque the nut to 60 lb./ft. of torque with an accurate, and reliable torque wrench. Not the China Piecs of shit you find at Wal-Mart. A good wrench. If the flywheel doesn't come loose, it won't break the key.. Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 The strap wrench talked about above. Make sure you wipe the flywheel off before you use it though incase you have oil or some other lubricant on it. Quote
