Banshee rage Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 I have a 2005 Banshee Limited Edition and i live in Michigan. My mods are as follows: Pro Circuit Pipes V-Force 3 reeds Boost Bottle CDI rev box Trinity K & N air box mod ( Winter riding with lid on and Summer riding lid off ) Main jet is 280 and pilot and needle are stock. In the winter i run a richer mix 24 to 1 and in the summer 32 to 1. My pipes call for a 260 main jet i went to a 280 for winter with lid on airbox and a richer mix checked plugs great golden brown like honey. I thought for summer jetting remove airbox and run 32 to 1 mix and keep 280 jet. If theory is right removing air box lid is like going down 2 jet sizes which would be perfect for summer. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. RIDE HARD AND FAST Quote
banshdog Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 In Michigan too, mods in sig. In my opinion, just from reading what your mods are, sounds like you are small on your mains. I burnt up my first top end from being too lean when i was running 280's but i have open air box. Where are you at in Mich.? I found a place that will dyno run and tune for $60/hr (shouldnt take more that an hour if your jetting is close). I think its a good price for the piece of mind i'll get when i know that my jetting is dialed in properly. Quote

sredish Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 The gas/premix ratio doesn't really change anything. I'd find a ratio that I like and stick with it. 32:1 is plenty, winter or summer. In regards to the main, 280 sounds about right. I'd leave it at that if it's running good and make your changes and see how she acts. It'll be leaner with the airbox lid off, but it'll also be summer and hotter, so check your plugs and follow what you read. Scott Quote

Less will go through your jets,so you are going backwards on your winter mix. Just stay at one mix at all times. Quote

My jets and mods are still the same. Pro Circuit Pipes V-Force 3 reeds Boost Bottle CDI rev box Trinity K & N air box mod Main jet is 280 and pilot and needle are stock 32 to 1 mix. What do you guys think jetting should be for summer and would you mess with the needle position or the pilots. 70 TO 90 DEGREE WEATHER Quote
sheefreak Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 I went up on pilots and moved clip down one positon(to make richer) and run 330 mains w/airbox lid off. I just rode mine yesterday in Battle Creek MI (45 degrees) and it runs strong, no drop off of power in 6th, great off idle response, smooth all the way through. (mods are in sig.) I'm thinking definately move clip on needle, and go up on pilot at least 27.5 if not 30's. And I would try your mains at about 310's and go from there. Quote
