bansheefreestyler Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 (edited) just finished installing my 2-1 carb. man that thing was hard to install. well anyways after i was done that i decided to check for sprk so i pulled out my left sparkplug and was kicking it over withe the spark plus on the head and my finger on it then all of a sudden ZAP i got one spark out of maybe 10 kicks so now im pretty stoked. does this mean that my cdi or stator isnt bad but its a connection? o ya and the spark wasnt weak either my hand was feeling some pain from that sucker ill tell ya that much. i also really need to get my quad running because i am probably going to dana creech riding school on april 16 and 17 then i have a race on april 24 and 25 Edited March 21, 2005 by bansheefreestyler Quote
sandman121383 Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 refer to ur manual. check all the ohm levels on all ur parts. if they check out good disconnect ur wiring harness from everything ,pull it off and put it on a bench. check all the connections. had no spark and everything tested out to be good. so i did that and found a wire with no continuity. eneded up i had 2 broken wires and my keyswitch was bad. good luck and lemme kno if u need some help. PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 refer to ur manual. check all the ohm levels on all ur parts. if they check out good disconnect ur wiring harness from everything ,pull it off and put it on a bench. check all the connections. had no spark and everything tested out to be good. so i did that and found a wire with no continuity. eneded up i had 2 broken wires and my keyswitch was bad. good luck and lemme kno if u need some help. 342696[/snapback] That's some good advice there, I'd check the connections (make sure they are clean and tight) before I pulled the harness though and hope that fixed it. Also check your flywheel and make sure you didn't shear a key and also check the pickup coil to make sure it's adjusted correctly. Spark is definately a good thing. Quote
