cjbanshee Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 When I hit my rear brakes they stay locked up. My spring is tight, and when I pull the brake up it releases. Anyone know what would cause this problem? Quote
stclark816 Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 When I had my frame powdercoated, the powdercoat added a layer over the brake knob deal where the lever slides on there, my brakes locked too. I had to get some sand paper and sand it down so that it could move freely without getting caught up. Works fine now. If you lever fits too tight on ther knob deal, that could very well be your problem. Quote
AUSSIE BANSHEE Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 DO YOU STILL HAVE THAT STUPID PARK BRAKE SET UP ATTACHED? IF SO I WOULD BUY A BLOCK OFF KIT AND PULL THE CALIPER APART AND FREE IT ALL UP, MINE USED TO CHEW UP PADS IN 2 OR 3 RIDE UNTIL I DID THAT Quote
bigboybanshee Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 Check the "slides" that the caliper slides on....Dirt and gunk will get in there and cause it to stick. I usually clean mine out when I change the pads. Quote
