snyderyzguys Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 I have recently aquired an older model banshee (i think 90) that needed a new top and bottom end. It has 68 mm pistons and stock stroke. when its running, the pipe jumps down and flames are visible. It smoked alot and has no top end. It wont rev up and the pipe continues to pop. I put new reeds and tried re jetting the carbs. I went from 200 mains down to 180, but still does same(not smoking as much though). The stator is stock and i am out of ideas. Oh, i forgot to mention that i rounded off the sleeve since it was square for better flow. The sleeve was so large that it was into transfer ports so figured it might do it some good. Please help. any info will be greatly appreciated. Quote

Just personal message him with your questions. I'm rebuilding the top on my 87' shee now and you may have to replace the sleeves and start fresh. Bored that lg sometimes can cause little problems, alot of little problems. Always having to wrench on her. Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 what are your mods... it sounds lean even for a stock motor. did you clean your carbs and set your float height, what do your plugs look like, is your air cleaner clean and in good shape? Quote
